How to go to Duong Lam from Hanoi
Because of its location close to the highway and about 50km from Hanoi, there are many ways to get to Duong Lam during the day.
By bus
You can go to Duong Lam by the following bus routes:
- From My Dinh bus station to Son Tay bus station: take bus 71, bus ticket price is 14000VND.
- From Kim Ma bus station to Son Tay bus station: bus 70.
- From Ha Dong bus station to Son Tay bus station: bus 77.

By your vehicles
From Hanoi, riding a motorbike or driving a car to Duong Lam is simple and easy. There are two paths for you to choose:
From Hanoi follow Thang Long Avenue to Hoa Lac T-junction, turn right, follow Route 21, go through Son Loc to the intersection with Road 32, there is a signpost guiding to the Duong Lam village.
From Hanoi to Nhon, follow the road 32 to Son Tay town, to the crossroad intersection with route 21, you will find a path on the left-hand side leading to the gate of Duong Lam village.
If you feel unsure, just go to Son Tay and ask for the way to Duong Lam. Anyone can show you.
Exploring Duong Lam village
When entering the village, visitors need to buy tickets at Mong Phu village gate at the price of 20000VND per person.
The best way to explore Duong Lam is walking or cycling, as you can enter into every corner of the village without disturbing the tranquillity and the harmony of the old houses.
Hire a bike to visit the ancient village of Duong Lam
In the Duong Lam, you should rent bicycles to travel around the village as well as tourist attractions near the village without spending too much time.
The bike rent costs from 30000 to 50000 VND per hour and all day rent is around 80000 to 100000 VND per one bike.

Must-visit sites in Duong Lam village
Mong Phu Gate
Mong Phu gate convenes layers of cultures with arch architecture, ancient laterite bricks. At present, the Mong Phu village gate which was built in 1833 is the only gate left.
Mia pagoda
The mausoleum and temple, worshiping Lady Mia have many statues made of bronze, wood or clay and pure, peaceful space.
In the temple, there is a Cuu Pham Lien Hoa Tower recently built to commemorate the relics of the Buddha and also the pen of the heavenly complement and to keep the circuit in the forgotten village of Dong Sang.
Duong Lam ancient well
Duong Lam ancient well used to be used by villagers regularly for public activities. Previously built mainly of laterite and mortar materials, the well has been remodeled with cement and brick.
Giang Van Minh Shrine
Located in the center of the complex relics in Duong Lam, the ruins of Giang Van Minh Shrine are becoming the favorite destination of many domestic and foreign tourists to visit and explore. The relic was built in the reign of Tu Duc to commemorate Giang Van Minh (1573 – 1637), who was sent by Emperor Le Than Tong to China. He bravely responded to protect the honor of the nation against the insults of the Minh Emperor. The Shrine was made of bricks mimicking the word “two” in ancient text, facing south.
At present, the 13th descendant of the Giang family – Mr. Giang Van Ke is responsible for taking care of the shrine.
Temple of King Phung Hung and King Ngo Quyen
Temples and tombs are built on a high hill, called Cam hill, facing east. The temple was built at the top, about 100m away from the mausoleum. In front of the mausoleum is a large field lying between two hillsides; a source of water called Hum lagoon flowing into the Tich river. Next to it is the Ho Gam hill, where Ngo Quyen often herded of buffaloes, mowed grass and practiced martial arts with his friends in his childhood according to legend. This is probably the most beautiful location of Duong Lam village.
