Option 1: Temple of Literature - Tran Quoc Pagoda - Old Quarter
Hanoi afternoon tour will start by visiting the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam. We will spend almost an hour and a half there to see the decoration, artifact, and architecture and learn more about its history.
After that, we move to the Tran Quoc pagoda – considered the oldest pagoda in Hanoi with more than 1000 years of history. Then we drive to Hoan Kiem Lake to visit Ngoc Son Temple (The Temple of the Jade Mountain) – the late Taoism center of Hanoi, The Huc Bridge, and Ma May ancient house.

Option 2: Temple of Literature - Hoa Lo prison - Old quarter
Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel then head to the Temple of Literature. We spend about 1 hour and a half there then continue with Hoa Lo prison.
Hoa Lo prison which was built in 1896 by French with the purpose of keeping political prisoners. Hoa Lo prison was considered was the strongest prison in Indochina at that time. After 1954 it belonged Vietnamese government, and was used to arrested American pilots and soldiers in Vietnam war period – they called this “Hanoi Hilton” sarcastically.
